A Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Benedict's Primary School and thank you for taking the time to learn more about how we can support your child in their first years of formal education.

I always speak with great pride about our warm, vibrant and friendly learning community, especially its dedicated staff, welcoming parents and the the growth and development of its students. Together we create a community where each child can thrive and each family feel connected with their child's learning.

As a Catholic school our actions are based on Catholic beliefs and values and in the spirit of St Benedict we welcome all. Our greatest belief is that all are 'made in the image and likeness of God' (Genesis 1:27) and so each young person brings their own unique expression of life that we share in the responsibility to nurture and grow. To do this our community stives to offer a safe and caring learning environment and provide the opportunities and challenges that assist all students to create a positive future for themselves and their community.

In providing a journey for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 our vision for all our boys and girls is that by the end of this journey they will be:

  •      -articulate and expressive in their faith,

  •      -independent workers,

  •      -creative thinkers,

  •      -resilient in relationships,

  •      -confident in self,

  •      -effective collaborators,

  •      -skilled communicators and

  •      -responsible stewards of their immediate world.

We proudly carry forward the diligent tradition of the Good Samaritan Sisters, providing a quality education for a diverse student population.  Our small school enables every child to be uniquely known, appreciated and nurtured by all and we expect that 'no one flies under the radar'.

Partnerships and collaboration are inherent to success. We work closely with parents and parish through various means. Parents are continuously informed and involved as they celebrate their child’s successes and engage in school life. The parish continues to be a great source of faith and life for us all.

We would welcome your further interest in our community. Please call the Front Office to organise a time for our Year 6 student leaders to take you on a tour of the school and I would also be happy to meet with you.
